About Chevrolet Corvette MagnaflowIntroduced in 1953, Chevrolet Corvette was an American sports car built by an American car company that is why it is known as "America's Sports Car”. Nowadays, this American sport car is manufactured in the city of Kentucky and Bowling Green. The car’s handling was the chief complaint which has been improved in order to be on the same level as popular European sports cars.
Chevrolet Corvette was designed by the famous car designer Harley Earl. He observed that after Second World War, the soldiers were attracted towards European sports cars and felt the need that America should have a sports car too. And at the 1953 Motorama car show, Chevrolet Corvette was shown to the public.
Corvette had a body made with fiberglass. The car’s performance was almost the same as the other Chevrolets of that time. And then in 1955, Chevrolet released the car with the first V8 engine which turned out to be quite famous.
There have been six generations of Corvette. About 290 horsepower, convertible top, power windows and a new fuel injection system was observed in the first generation of the car. The next generation of the car had four-wheel disc brakes and was called the Corvette Sting Ray. The third generation car was made public through Mattel's Hot Wheels line that was released a few weeks before the original car had to be shown. The aerodynamic design which was not common at that time appeared in the fourth generation of the car. Corvette's fiftieth anniversary was celebrated in the fifth generation and the power of the car was also improved. The sixth version of the car emphasized on improving the power of the car rather than its look.
Corvette won Motor Trend's Car of the Year in 1984 and 1998 and also appeared on Ten Best Car lists many times. Chevrolet Corvette is indeed one of the classic American sports cars as it has been able to remain famous for around fifty years.
